About Marked Share

Marked Share is a Markdown publishing service built to work seamlessly with Marked, the Markdown preview app for Mac. Publish documents from Marked or the web, share them with short links on markedb.in, and manage your library at share.markedapp.com.

Marked Share is free to use. There is no subscription and no paid tier — create an account and publish as many documents as you need.

What it does

Marked Share lets you publish Markdown documents to the web with stable, shareable URLs. Documents are rendered with the same Apex pipeline Marked uses locally, so what you preview in Marked is what readers see online. You can keep documents private until you are ready to share, publish unlisted links, or make documents fully public.

Built for Marked

Marked 3 can publish and update documents directly through the Marked Share API. Sign in with your Marked account, generate an API token in Settings, and Marked handles the rest — creating documents, updating content, and returning short share URLs you can copy or open in a browser.

How it works

When you publish a document, Marked Share stores your Markdown source and renders it to HTML using Apex. Your library on share.markedapp.com is your account home — manage visibility, edit content, and organize documents into collections. Public and unlisted documents are served from markedb.in so share links stay short and memorable.

Account-owned documents are private by default. Only you (and API tokens you authorize) can access them until you explicitly change visibility. Unauthorized access to private documents returns a 404, not an error that reveals the document exists.

Get started

If you use Marked 3, open the Share panel in the app to connect your account. You can also sign up free or sign in on the web to manage your library directly.

The documentation covers publishing, sharing, highlights and reviews, and the API.
